Performance Issues Caused by Recent Windows Security Update
Published on 05. February 2026
Since the end of January 2026, we have been receiving isolated reports from customers and partners that opening the Employee List or Salary Types has become slow. We were also able to observe this behavior internally among a few employees.
Cause Identified – Not a SwissSalary 365 Issue
After an in‑depth analysis, we were able to clearly identify the cause. This is not a bug in the SwissSalary 365 app, but rather an issue related to a Windows Security Update released by Microsoft at the end of January 2026.
Users worldwide have reported various malfunctions associated with this update. On the evening of January 24, 2026, Microsoft informed administrators that a hotfix had been made available, which can be installed manually for affected users.
We have tested this hotfix in our own environment, and after installation, performance returned to normal.
Important Notes for Affected Customers
If you observe noticeable latency, please notify your IT administration and refer them to the official Microsoft message:
https://admin.cloud.microsoft/?#/MessageCenter/:/messages/MC1222123The issue does not appear in all companies or for all users. Even with identical Windows update levels, it is possible that only specific users are affected.
The SwissSalary Application Consulting Team cannot provide support in this case, as the installation and approval of Windows updates must be handled by your internal IT department.
